Tesla Model Y has been included in the Chinese Government’s procurement list for electric vehicles, as stated in the “Framework Agreement Procurement of EVs for Jiangsu Province Government for 2024-2025”. This is the first time Tesla has been part of such a catalog in China. Other models on the list include Aito M7, Avatr 11, IM Motors LS6 and L7, Roewe’s D5X, and Volvo’s XC40. The procurement document by Jiangsu Province Government specifies indicators for sedans, SUVs, MPVs, pickup trucks, and buses, with an SUV price cap of 250,000 RMB and a minimum 400 km electric range requirement. Despite a decline in manufacturing numbers, Tesla’s stock has been performing well, with CEO Elon Musk speaking at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai.
