China’s weekly insurance registration data for the period of October 21 to 27 showed BYD continued to lead with 95,600 new energy vehicles registered. BYD sold 164,956 passenger battery electric vehicles in September, and plug-in hybrids reached 252,647 units. Tesla’s registrations declined to 10,500 vehicles in the fourth week of October. Li Auto registrations fell to 11,300 units, while XPeng registered 5,500 units. Nio registrations increased to 4,200 units, Zeekr saw a decline to 5,100 vehicles, and Xiaomi reached a new record of 5,700 units. Stellantis brand Leapmotor registered 8,500 units, up from 8,000 vehicles.
