Weekly New Energy Vehicle Registrations in China: Tesla Registers 1.8k, Nio 4.5k, BYD 67.6k, and Other Brands

China’s weekly insurance registration data for the period of Sept. 30 to October 6, shows BYD leading with 67,600 EV registrations. Tesla registered 1,800 vehicles, a weak performance due to disruptions during China’s National Day holiday. Year to date, Tesla has sold 462,087 vehicles in China. Li Auto registered 8,700 units, while XPeng and Nio also saw fluctuations in registrations. Other brands like Aito, Xiaomi, Zeekr, and Leapmotor also had varying registration numbers. XPeng is expanding to European markets and will debut a new model at the Paris Auto Show.
