A Tesla Cybertruck has been spotted in Tianjin, China, with a registered license plate, marking the first time the model has been legally licensed in the country. In early July, the Cybertruck and Tesla’s humanoid robot Optimus Gen 2 were showcased at the 2024 World Artificial Intelligence Conference in China. Although a few Cybertrucks have been seen in China over the last few months, the vehicle spotted is the first successfully registered one. The vehicle is listed on a Chinese platform for 3.5 million yuan, equivalent to approximately $488,500. As part of the process to obtain a registered license plate, the Cybertruck has obtained the vehicle’s 3C (China Compulsory Certificate) certification, ensuring compliance with China’s safety and quality standards.
