Bonne Eggleston Named Head of Tesla’s 4680 Cells Team by Elon Musk

Tesla has named Bonne Eggleston as the new head of its 4680 battery department, a move confirmed by the employee and reported by Chinese media LatePost. Eggleston, who joined Tesla seven years ago, previously held various roles culminating in senior director for the 4680 project. Following his appointment, Eggleston announced a freeze on layoffs while emphasizing meeting cost reduction targets. Tesla aims for its self-produced 4680 batteries to be cheaper than those from suppliers like Panasonic and LG Energy.
